Instrumentation Field Service Engineer

Job Description
Designs, specifies, fabricates, documents, integrates, and operates instrumentation packages for various tests, including, but not limited to, rocket firing, unmanned aerial systems, ground vehicles, airdrop payloads, and other unique test articles. Design, fabricate, and operate instrumentation packages that include but not limited to measurement devices, electronic firing systems, and data collection systems. Validates and verifies test requirements against instrumentation performance specifications. Utilizes previous experience and test requirements to develop instrumentation. Performs onsite support of test items while operating and monitoring instrumentation or electronics package. Skills include component-level design, soldering, PIC microcontroller programming, engineering enclosures and user interface designs. Provides technical guidance and trains lower level technicians. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and not hold multiple citizenships.
Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
Must be able speak, write, read, and understand English.
Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude.
Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.
Must use down-time effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company.
Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.
Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability.
Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.
Must have a demonstrated ability to follow instructions and company policy.
Must be able to deliver quality products to the customer and be responsive to their needs.

Must be able to work independently and manage own tasks and timelines.
Working knowledge of computer systems and software.
Experience designing and fabricating electronics down to component level.
Experience using test equipment like oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and function generators.
Working knowledge of electronics and circuit theory.
Experience with instrumentation and sensor data collection.
Experience with PIC microcontroller programming.
Must have Bachelor s Degree in Electronics Technology or Electrical Engineering and 10 years directly related experience.
Physical Requirements:
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for the Automotive Instrumentation section.
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.
Must be capable of frequent squatting, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and standing.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with gun and rocket firing systems.
