Avenue A Position Summary Under the direction of the healthcare provider, clinical staff and/or department leadership, provide medical assistance and medical clerical support to the specialty clinic. This position is a multi-skilled professional who must perform both administrative and clinical skills in the medical clinic environment. This person may be responsible for working with multiple physicians in order to provide quality coordinated care to clinic patients. Posting Department Palliative Care Clinic Posting Department Description Palliative care is a medical specialty that focuses on relieving pain, stress and other discomforts to provide the best possible quality of life for patients who have a serious illness. YRMC was one of the first 100 hospitals in the country to offer this specialty. Palliative care can be delivered at the same time as other medical treatments and is not limited to patients with life-threatening illnesses. Area of Interest Service Support Start Date Open Until Filled Work Week Monday through Friday Daily Hours 8 Bi-Weekly Hours 80 External Education Education Required: High school or equivalent. Certified or credentialed through a national registry as a Medical Assistant. Basic life support for healthcare providers as appropriate & required for assigned department. Education Preferred: Certified Medical Assistant External Experience Experience Required: Must be 18 years of age. Computer proficiency (must be able to pass computer proficiency assessment) Experience Preferred: 1 year experience as a medical assistant. Bi-lingual English/Spanish (read, speak, write). Experience related to specialty clinic. Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record or similar electronic record systems. Requires Call No Relocation No Job Status HRLY-1.0 Apply
